Rope an Animal Stealing: What Is Known About Taking Animals

Rope an Animal officially includes stealing from other players. Learn what one contested delivery shows and which rules to check in-game.

Stealing animals from other players is part of Rope an Animal. The game's official How to Play lists it alongside catching wild animals and training Speed. It does not explain the controls, which animals are eligible, or how to protect one you have already roped.

Watch for other players during a delivery

In one recorded run, another player approached while the narrator was bringing home a roped chameleon. The narrator believed the animal was being stolen near the end of the ride. That is a reason to stay alert around other players when carrying a valuable catch, although the recording does not clearly show a steal confirmation or the action the other player used.

Keep moving toward safety and watch the players around your route. That is general caution, not a proven way to block a steal. A Guardian chase and another player's attempt may overlap, so do not assume the usual lasso and escape rules explain the stealing mechanic.

Check the rules in your current game

The public description does not say whether a player can take an animal mid-delivery, from a base, or both. It also gives no button, cost, cooldown, success chance, or defense. If you want to steal rather than protect a catch, look for an in-game prompt or tutorial before spending on any supposed technique. Treat claims about shields or guaranteed steal methods as unconfirmed until the live game shows them.
